A Story of Love
My name is Kaavya Kumar and I am one of the Co-Founders and Presidents here at the Paw Project. Being raised with two golden retrievers, I have developed a love for all animals. Both of my dogs faced many allergy issues throughout their lives which involved many check-ups and surgeries at the local vet. Though this was very costly, I was hit with the reality of the veterinary prices after one of my dogs was diagnosed with a lymphoma in August of 2024.
Seeing my dog suffer and battle through until he passed away in March of 2025 after dealing with many other health issues gave me the realization of how many others struggle to pay for their animal's health. Shaila and I created this organization to combat this problem in hopes of making life changing impacts for others.
At The Paw Project, every action and step we can make a change in the veterinary field because we are stronger together. With the help of our team and the community, everyone can gain access to equity healthcare.

My name is Shaila Narayanan, and I am one of the co-founders and presidents of The Paw Project. I have been passionate about animals for as long as I can remember. Although my parents never allowed me to have a dog growing up, my aunt has a dog, and I have always been very involved in caring and raising her.
Through this experience, I’ve seen firsthand how much love and joy animals bring and how many loving animals never receive the care they deserve. That realization inspired me to help create The Paw Project, which is dedicated to ensuring animals have access to healthcare.
With the help of our team we can help ensure that animals receive the love and care they deserve.
